When HI asked Gill Zeilon and Waldemar Andersson – the manager and former manager respectively of the Swedish Holstein herdbook – about the best Holstein herds in Sweden, various farms ended up high on their shared top list. Among the top names is the relatively young EH Holsteins in Moholm, situated in the powerful agricultural region between the two large Swedish lakes, Vänern and Vättern. Reason for HI to travel to this farm with 135 milking and dry cows, where the Hovbjer family successfully combines a remarkable level of production (13,200 kg/29,000 lb) and elite type.
