As there are only a handful of herds in western Germany that are of a similar size, simply the number of 1,200 cows that Marc Benninghoff milks on his north-German farm is a statement. But Benninghoff Holsteins has much more to offer. Afterall, the herd is one of the highest-producing and most intensive breeding herds that can be found in Germany. Even in Europe there will be few similar large farms where management and breeding are combined at such a high level. Anybody who pays close attention can learn a lot.
