Beef-on-Dairy, the use of beef sires on (part) of the dairy herd, is a global phenomenon. In North America, Beef-on-Dairy has been the most significant development during the past five years. After earlier publications in February and April, HI is again focussing attention on this important topic. Besides management considerations, like sire selection and semen quality, successful use of Beef-on-Dairy also requires a look beyond. Meeting the high quality requirements of growers is crucial to success over the long term.
